Beautification Contest bring out the BEST in the neighborhood.
Our historic East Bayfront neighborhood is rapidly becoming
one of Erie's most beautiful, thanks to local green thumbs
and hard working volunteers. |

was a huge success, attracting more than 75 people. This
year's annual event provided an opportunity for neighbors
to get to know each other better while enjoying the night's
feature entertainment, a three piece combo - Tri This. |

Community Partners
Keep Traffic Triangle Garden in Bloom. The Western Pennsylvania
Conservancy and Erie County Master Gardeners partnered
with Wayne Middle School students, East Bayfront Watch
Volunteers, and the Erie County Adult Probation Community
Service Program to plant and maintain the traffic triangle
garden at East 6th Street and East Avenue intersection. |

Work Continues on 231
Parade Street: Renovations of 231 Parade, the former
Satula’s
Market, began in earnest August 14th when BEST signed
a contract with Odyssey Builders to tear out existing
walls, electrical wiring and plumbing to make way for
a completely new interior. |

Home Repair 101: Nineteen
homeowners and renters thinking about buying a home completed
a ten hour home maintenance classes sponsored by United
Way of Erie County and BEST through its Neighborhood
Partnership Program. |

Adult Probation Community Service Program for helping
out at the Traffic Triangle Garden July 18th. |

BEST and Home Chore
Program partners District Judge Sue Mack and City of
Erie Code Enforcement Officer Peggy Jordan joined forces
with the First Assembly of God Church to raise money
for Erie’s First Ward Home Chore Program by staging
a car show that attracted more than 300 car enthusiasts. |

BEST and Port Harbor Company hosted an open house Thursday
May 25th to show off three newly built homes on the 300
block of East Third Street. |

Traffic Triangle ablaze
in color. From dull brown to spectacular. It seems as
though it was only yesterday that we were preparing the
flower beds at East Avenue and Sixth Street for winter.
Spring came fast this year but with a little help from
our friends at the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and
the students at Wayne Middle School the traffic triangle
will once again be blooming and brightening the day for
drivers passing by. |

We really cleaned up with a little help from our friends
from Gannon University during United Way’s Day
of Caring on April 22nd thanks to Professor Steve Ropski
and four students from Gannon. |
