Community Partners Keep Traffic Triangle Garden In Bloom

Traffic Triangle in Bloom

July 2007

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and Erie County Master Gardeners partnered with Wayne Middle School students, East Bayfront Watch Volunteers, and the Erie County Adult Probation Community Service Program to plant and maintain the traffic triangle garden at East 6th Street and East Avenue intersection.

Students and community service workers planted nearly 1,500 red celosia and yellow marigolds on the site. The WPA designed the garden and furnished the plants. The City of Erie delivered a load of rich compost the day of planting. East Bayfront volunteers and community service workers weeded and watered the garden, ensuring a spectacular display of blooms all summer long.

BEST thanks all our community partners for making our 2007 Garden one of the best ever.
