Construction installed a new roof early spring 2006.
Renovations of 231 Parade,
the former Satula’s Market, began in earnest August 14th
when BEST signed a contract with Odyssey Builders to tear out
existing walls, electrical wiring and plumbing to make way
for a completely new interior.
As crews work inside, the
outside is getting a facelift too. Crews from Northwest Restoration
are cleaning and repairing the brick and tearing out old windows
and doors
Funds for this project came from a variety of sources. The
Erie Community Foundation contributed the money to purchase the
building. BEST set aside $100,000 in Community Housing Development
Funds for the creation of two affordable apartments on the second
floor. The Erie Redevelopment Authority contributed $30,000 for
façade improvements, and $100,000 in tax credits through
Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development
Neighborhood Partnership Program is paying for part of the renovation
costs to the first floor commercial space.
BEST is looking
for a commercial tenant on the first floor. Please call Dwight
