East Side Taskforce and your East Bayfront Neighborhood Watch.
Social hour starts at 6:30 with food & refreshments. The meeting
starts at 7:00.
Annual Home Ownership Fair – Thursday,
March 29
This annual
event at Blasco Library is sponsored by our housing counseling
partners at St. Martin Center. Discover many programs to help you
reach your dream of owning your own home. BEST along with other
Erie housing developers and several mortgage lenders will be there
to explain their unique programs designed to meet the needs of
almost any home buyer.
Dumpster Days- Saturdays April 14 & October

The spring
and fall dumpster days are sponsored by Erie’s First Ward
Home Chore Program. We can accept almost any household item except:
tires, car batteries, air conditioners, paint, oil, antifreeze,
refrigerators and freezers, since these items contain toxic materials.
Also please note that this event is open to First Ward residents
only, so bring your photo ID with you to prove residency. The event
lasts until 4:00 p.m. or until dumpsters are full. Volunteers will
be on hand to help you unload your car or truck.
United Way Day of Caring – Saturday
April 21
Volunteer for
Day of Caring. Help beautify our neighborhood and earn two reserved
seat coupons for any SeaWolves Game, courtesy of the Erie SeaWolves
and United Way. Coupons are good for any upcoming SeaWolves home
game based on availability. Volunteers will meet at Levy Park at
9:00 a.m. for their assignments.
Tire Drop Off – Saturday May 5
Don’t let the old tires
sit around collecting rainwater and breeding mosquitoes. Drop them
off at the City Municipal Garage on tire collection day, Saturday
May 5th. Remember to bring your photo ID as this service is available
to Erie City residents only.
Beauty and the Bluff – Saturday
May 12
14th Annual Beauty and the Bluff Clean up
sponsored by the East Bayfront Neighborhood Watch. Volunteers will meet at
Scotty's, East 4th & German Streets, between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. for coffee/milk/juice
and donuts. Clean up is from 9:15 to 11:00 a.m. Gloves and garbage bags are provided.
Landscaping and Gardening Classes – Tuesdays,
May 8, 15, and 22
Sign up today. Classes are free and open to any Erie
residents. However enrollment is limited to 25 people. PennState
Master Gardeners will instruct participants on planting and caring
for your vegetable and flower gardens and how to properly maintain
your lawn. Come early for a light supper served at 5:00 p.m.
